We’re thrilled to announce that Bike Base is now open at Gribdale, near Great Ayton, right in the heart of some of North Yorkshire’s most stunning scenery, just a stone’s throw from Captain Cook’s Monument!
Our new complex includes a welcoming café, a bike hire service offering both mountain bikes and e-bikes, and soon, two on-site Airbnb apartments. It’s the perfect starting point for exploring the beautiful North York Moors by bike or on foot.
We even had a bit of fun for our launch, with an April Fool’s Day video suggesting café customers could help power the building by pedalling under their tables , a few visitors even checked! Don’t worry, we’re powered (for now) by solar panels and a generator while we wait for our mains connection.
Bike hire is available now through our website and another local premises, and will soon be fully operational at Gribdale. Plus, exciting plans are underway for mountain bike courses, “re-cycling” sessions for returning riders, and guided tours.
We’re aiming to create a friendly hub for cyclists, walkers, and nature lovers. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed coffee, an adventurous ride, or a scenic stay > Bike Base is here for you!
