THE NORTH YORK MOORS
The North York Moors is an exceptional spot for cycling, catering to everyone from family cyclists to elite mountain bikers. There are miles of country roads, bridleways, forest tracks, and disused railway lines. Experience the best of the National Park on the ‘Moor to Sea Cycle Network’ – 150 miles of cycling freedom through some of Britain’s most picturesque scenery. If you prefer quieter moorland roads, the 171-mile North York Moors Cycleway offers a figure-of-eight route using less busy roads and showcasing many of the area’s highlights.

Esk Valley Railway
The Esk Valley Railway traverses the North York Moors National Park terminating at the Historic seaside town of Whitby. It serves 17 stations along its route including Great Ayton, located just 800m from Bike Base. The Esk Valley Railway provides an enjoyable, eco-friendly, and stress-free way to explore this stunning landscape and its charming villages.

North Yorkshire Heritage Coast
The heritage coast runs the length of the North York Moors National Park, as far as the resort of Saltburn, just 12 miles from Bike Base. The coastline is a dramatic one of rugged cliffs dotted with small fishing villages.
